Oh my gosh.  That’s all I got.

This is super awesome.  I absolutely love the trend of making the most out ef the smallest amounts of Lego.  Some of the miniature work being made by Lego designers is quite impressive these days, and this is no exception.  I plan on getting back to Lego in the not-too-distant future myself, and this is where I would like to head.  I just need to get lots of smooth, small, pieces…
Anywho, enjoy!

I got 100%. How did you do?

I’m someone you don’t want to get on the bad side of

Su’cuy gar everyone. Figured it was time for another article, wouldn’t you say? Today’s topic: Mandalorians.

Mandalorian

So the Mandalorians are a pretty big part of the Star Wars galaxy. They’ve had massive impact on galactic events throughout history, not to mention they have a very unique and interesting culture. Let’s take a look at the two “beginnings” of the Mandalorians…

First: there was Boba Fett.

First Boba

Yeah… remember that^^? The Star Wars Holiday Special had a short, animated sequence where Boba Fett was introduced. As true to Lucas fashion, a lot of Fett lore has been retconned (this scenario being one example). But Boba Fett is the ORIGINAL Mando. Basically all the lore of the Mandolorians comes from interest in this one character.

And honestly, who doesn’t love the Fett?

So Boba Fett as we all know is the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy. He captured Han Solo and took his carbonite-frozen body to Jabba the Hutt. Many years later we found out that he was a clone of his father (who was also a Mando bounty hunter). Eventually he unites his people as Mand’alore and is generally a boss.

Second “beginning”: the Taung

Taung

Who would have guessed that these guys were Corescant’s native inhabitants? These guys were the beginnings of the Madalorians. It is due to their warrior culture that the Mandalorians were born. They eventually adopted Mandalore as their new home planet and assimilated various conquered cultures into their ranks (kind of like the Roman Empire). Eventually they died out, but their legacy lived on in Mandalorian culture.

So there you have it. A small peak into the origins of the Mandalorians. Since I’ve been playing as a bounty hunter in SWTOR, I’ve been more interested in the details of Mandalorian culture. I’ve always liked the Mandos because of Boba Fett and (my favorite) Mandalore the Preserver, but with the SWTOR bounty hunter storyline and the background content from the datacrons, it’s been interesting seeing the evolution of Mandalorian culture and how it’s “lived out” in a sense.

Well, it’s been fun. Thanks for reading, and may the Force be with you.

Star Wars: Scoundrels.  It’s official!  That’s the title of Timothy Zahn’s newest Star Wars book, due out Dec 26th, 2012!  Yes, its about Han Solo.  Yes, his gambling, scallywag partners are there.  For more info on this, check out Entertainment Weekly’s latest article giving a bit of back (and forth) story to the upcoming release!
Just please.  Don’t tell me that’s actually the final cover.  Please.  I don’t want a DK kids book from the 90s.  Thanks…  Seriously.  That white cover with awful daFont-eske stencil typeface with the fake fake fake looking red paint droplets ever so evenly dissipating around the type is making my eyes weep.  Nothing about that is Star Wars.  Ever.  I mean, you can’t run a tight galactic ship with such poor design, can you?

I’m going to be honest here.  I really like these.  If that Darth Maul one lived as a painting that I could buy, I think I would.  And I’m sure the fiancee would love it as the mainstay in our future living room!
